Antimold-Mild®

  • Food Ethanol evaporation agent Anti mold Softness Moistness

    Application

This product is made from powderized Ethanol with use of a special technology based on our formulation technology and filled in packets using special wrapping paper.
Ethanol gas undergoes gradual evaporation from powdered Ethanol filled in a packet to suppress the propagation of microorganisms adhering to foods and to prevent the growth of mold, etc.
This is an extremely safe food quality preservation agent that maintains food quality with trace amounts of Ethanol.

FEATURE

Function

    • Preserves food quality through evaporation of Ethanol controlled at an appropriate speed in packages.

Effect

Anti mold Softness Moistness
    • Suppresses the growth of mold by the action of Ethanol.
    • Maintains the "softness" and "moistness" without allowing the moisture in foods to escape.
    • Since no iron-based raw materials are used, a metal detector can be used.
    • The amount of plastic component used in the wrapping materials of Antimold® is approximately 50% in comparison to those used in common oxygen absorbers.

Safety

    • Ethanol is adsorbed to silica gel, and filled in packets using special wrapping paper.
    • The contents and wrapping materials used are both safe materials, with no impact on the human body.
    • The safety of contents has been verified by acute toxicity tests conducted by the Japan Food Research Laboratories.
    • The wrapping materials have passed tests prescribed by Ministry of Health and Welfare Notification No. 370.

Grade selection

  • 1. Measure the weight and water activity value (Aw value) of the target food.

    2. From the following chart, read the guidelines for the amount of Antimold-Mild® added.

Example:150g of kasutera sponge cake with a water activity value (Aw value) of 0.84
At 0.84 Aw, grade-10 Antimold-Mild® should be added per 100g as a guide.
In this case, since the food weighs 150g, grade 15 is required.

    3. Make sure to carry out a test with the actual goods form to confirm the effectiveness of Antimold-Mild®.
The shelf life is affected by the packaging method, manufacturing season and environment, storage temperature, etc., even for the same foods.

About Handling

  • Single packet type
    1. After opening, use within the following working time (25°C).
    2. Open each bag from the notched portion.
However, since the packet is filled up to the bottom of the notch, make sure not to break it when opening.

    Continuous strip of packets type
    1. After opening, use within 3 hours. (25°C).
    2. The starting portion is clearly indicated by a sticker affixed to the outer packaging bag.

    Common items
    1. As a packaging material for goods, use a material that is low in Ethanol permeability (10g/m2·24hr (40°C) or less).
    2. When using one packet in a collective package, open holes in the individual packages (eight of 3 mm size per 100 cm2 of packaging material as a guide).
    3. When opening the cardboard box, refrain from using a cutter knife. The products inside may be damaged.
    4. After opening the cardboard box and before taking out the products, if there is any swollen outer packaging bag when unopened, avoid using it because there is a possibility of pinholes or poor sealing (normally they are in a deaerated state).
    5. If all of the products are not used, minimize the space in the outer packaging bag, and store after performing heat sealing. In short-time situations, such as a break time, clip-on storage is also possible (deaeration sealing is preferable).
