Inaugural address from the new President (FREUND-TURBO CORPORATION) FREUND Group Global 2023.03.01

I am Ken Shinogi, and I am honored to be appointed President of FREUND-TURBO CORPORATION ※ (FT).

FT is a manufacturing company that creates added value with craftsmanship. Founded in 1967, we have provided powder and granule technology equipment and contract processing services for more than half a century. We are a leading company in the field of "grinding (to make finer)," "classifying (to sieve)," and "granulating (to make granules)." We are highly rated and trusted by our customers in various industrial fields, such as pharmaceuticals, foods, cosmetics, battery materials, and chemicals in general. In 2010, we became a member of the Freund Group and later added "mixing" technology and entered a new stage.

I have written this article to share FT's vision with our customers, who use our equipment, the Freund Group, who share our goal of challenging markets around the world, and you, the readers of this article.

1991: Recruited by Mitsubishi Precision Co., Ltd.
1999: Joined Turbo Kogyo Co., Ltd. (the predecessor of FREUND-TURBO CORPORATION)
   Mainly engaged in designing, improving, and developing grinding equipment (Turbo Mill, etc.)
2018: Promoted to Director and Factory Manager
2022: Promoted to Managing Director and Factory Manager
2023: Appointed as President (to present)

We are grateful for all that our predecessors have left us, and we constantly are challenged to improve. We believe in the following principles.

We desire to continue evolving FT while keeping in mind the importance of such an engineer's mindset and commitment to making added value with craftsmanship.

FT contributes to a wide range of industries and fields. We provide miniaturization, granulation, and increasing functionality technologies for the following list of raw materials to achieve zero emissions (zero CO2 emissions) through recycling and utilization of resources as well as pharmaceutical solid dosage forms.

 - Toner and various resins
 - Soil improvement products, feed, fertilizer, etc., in the environmental field
 - Indispensable raw materials in the manufacturing process for semiconductor-related products, new fuel systems, biodegradable resins, advanced functional materials, high-performance films, secondary batteries, etc.

Our FT equipment lineup is making a significant contribution to the rechargeable battery industry to improve the performance of battery materials and other components on a global scale. This is indispensable to the growing electric vehicle market, which is essential to achieving carbon neutrality (carbon cycle).

In the future, FT will continue to focus on global niche areas, such as silicon wafers, semiconductor encapsulating materials, and Japanese monopoly industries, and will work to provide higher-quality products. We are confident that our efforts will create synergies for the Freund Group.

First and foremost, as a company, we will conduct objective management with intentionally logical and numerical control based on maximizing added value with minimal capital and personnel. My most important mission is always to have a sense of purpose, to think about "why we are doing the work in the first place and what value we are creating," to act proactively and to clarify our vision.

We also aim to create innovation by demonstrating individuality and ability through diversity. This will ultimately create an environment and corporate culture where we can maximize our abilities. The Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) values are "fairness" and "respect for the individual." The critical thing in FT is not "who said it" but "what was said."

We must accept and recognize diverse personalities and values, enjoy work with reward through dialogue, and create a positive corporate culture.
We seek to create an environment where employees can work happily and with a sense of fulfillment, creating a comfortable and pleasant working environment for everyone.
This will result in the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the company's growth. We will build something worthwhile for FT employees to continue as a member of the Freund Group.

With the strong demand to respond to drastic changes in the business environment, such as globalization, the SDGs, and decarbonization, we are now providing equipment and technology beyond Asia to Western countries with a view to global trends. FT will respond to evolving raw materials with further technical capabilities by integrating new ideas based on the technology it has developed over the years.

We also invite our customers who use FT equipment to join us in creating new value. We are committed to disseminating Japanese manufacturing technology as one team.
We will contribute to the revitalization of Japan's manufacturing industry with the sense of values of "ONE FREUND." We aim to become a company that people around the world need with our unique technology.

At the end of each of these small steps, FT will always exceed expectations and bring smiles and happiness to our customers.
We will listen sincerely to the voices of those who support FT, and we will achieve our goals by being grateful and humble and continuously transforming ourselves.
