    The annular gap bead mill with a high cooling capacity, enables high-viscosity and high-concentration dispersion of 30,000 to 60,000 mPa?s and nanosize grinding.

    Efficient grinding is realized by narrowing the range where the centrifugal force is transmitted as much as possible to concentrate the centrifugal force. In addition, with the speeding up of the circumferential velocity of the rotor, the particle size distribution of the ground product becomes sharper.

    Since the annular gap type becomes smaller in volume of the grinding chamber, the amount of beads used and product loss are reduced, which makes washing easy.

FEATURE

    • Processes 30,000 to 60,000 mPa·s high-viscosity slurries that cannot be processed with conventional mills.
      The slurry flow path is shortened and the rotor and stator are smoothly structured, by which the viscosity resistance from high-viscosity slurries can be reduced.
    • Significantly shortens the processing time of high-concentration slurries
      Since the time to reach the target particle size is short and the production capacity is high, the processing time is shortened.
    • Easy charging and discharging of beads
      Beads can be charged as they fall under their own weight, and when discharged, almost all beads are discharged. No complicated work is required at the time of charging/discharging.
    • Great heat removal effect by direct cooling of the outer perimeter and rotor
      It can also be used for heat-sensitive raw materials, such as foods.
    • Easy disassembly and washing
      The rotor and screen of the grinding chamber can be disassembled and washed by simply removing one bolt.
    • Measures against abrasion
      SUS construction is specially plated to be abrasion-resistant. Ceramic construction further improves abrasion resistance.
      Slurries highly sensitive to contamination and slurries strict in color tone can also be processed.

Device configuration and processing flow

The slurry supplied from the raw material feeding port is (1) finely milled in the grinding chamber;
separated from grinding beads by the pyramid screen (2); and
discharged from the raw material discharging port (3).

Micron-size powder is mixed in a medium solution of water, oil, alcohol, solvent, or the like to prepare slurry.
The slurry is processed by a bead mill to grind and disperse it to nanosize.

  • Improvement in texture
    Foods (chocolate, etc.) with a rough texture larger than micron-size are smoothened by making them nanosize.
  • Improvement in absorbability, reactivity, and solubility
    Absorbability, reactivity, and solubility are improved by crushing pharmaceutical raw materials and other particles to the nano-level.
  • Creates a sense of transparency
    A sense of transparency is created by dispersing sunscreens and other raw materials.
  • Homogenization
    Insulating paint (solder resist) and other high-viscosity slurries can be homogeneously dispersed.
  • Extraction of useful components by cell disruption
    Useful components in cells can be extracted by crushing cells of yeast, algae, etc.
  • Departure from existing processes
    Raw material concentration and viscosity can be increased, which was not practical with existing bead mill processing for low-viscosity slurries.
